The Cursed Underworld update introduced a new procedurally generated cave system to Len's Island. Caves are now separate to dungeons, making resource gathering within the caves a more peaceful activity and dungeons specifically for dungeon crawling.
One of the highlights of this new underground map is the ability to venture through the cave system and pop back up above ground in a new area by using a secret entrance. Although it hasn't been made easy, with various parkour and building puzzles in the way. So until you establish a quick route to where you want to go, it may take some time to get from A to B. You can also build in the caves, allowing players to create their own underground homes and mushroom farms.
Access[]
You can first access the caves from the starting island in between the Florist and Blacksmith in the first Town (as pictured below). From there you can traverse the cave network, which is the same size as the overworld.
Tips Before Entering[]
- A small amount of low-tier enemies are wandering the caves, so keep a weapon on your hotbar
- Keep plenty of wood and fiber on hand as you use these resources to repair bridges within the caves

The caves are a good place to find a plenty of resources. You will find the following down there:
The Lightstone is rare. But if you watch out for an area with some lava, you may be able to find some.
Building[]
The cave system allows players to access the build menu. Get creative with underground homes, outposts, and mushroom farms. Building platforms and stairs also assist players to traverse the caves.
