Combat is one of the core mechanics in Len's Island. In order to progress throughout the game, you will need to explore dangerous islands and dungeons while fighting various Enemies along the way. Increasing combat related skills, upgrading weapons at the anvil and also enchanting weapons will allow the player to fight tougher creatures
Basics[]
You can perform a basic attack by clicking the LMB. You can follow this up by repeatedly clicking, performing a continuous combo. Whenever you attack, a white circle will appear at the end of the swing. Timing your click when the circle appears will cause you to score a critical hit, dealing extra damage.
Pressing shift will cause you to roll in the direction you were moving. This can help you dodge attack, reposition, and cancel attacks. You can also roll in midair, allowing you to jump over groups of enemies.
Weapons[]
There are a variety of different Weapons in the game that offer different stats and playstyles. Each weapon has a speed of either fast, average, or slow. A sword might offer a wider swing capable of hitting more enemies while a spear is better used hitting a single target from afar.
Each weapon offers a unique special attack. Hitting an enemy with a special attack can cause higher damage along with various debuffs. They have a short cooldown, and managing this time is key to maximizing efficiency in combat.
Shields[]
Shields are currently the only armor available in the game. Having a shield equipped offers a small amount of passive damage reduction, while activating the shield blocks a much higher amount. However, having a shield equipped also slows you down. Player can hold either a shield or a torch in their off-hand.
Health[]
Getting hit by enemies will lower your health. This can be restored by eating food in combat. You can also restored quickly by lighting a bonfire and resting nearby. Being well fed will also offer passive regeneration. If your health reaches zero, you will die and drop a backpack, losing some of your resources. You can return to where you died to retrieve you backpack or pay Centaine, Alex or the Druid to retrieve it for you.
